Welcome to the 2020/21 school year at Montessori Children’s House of Valley Forge! On behalf of the Board of Directors, we hope you were able to enjoy your summer and are excited to welcome you back to school. For new parents, we hope last week’s transition went smoothly for your child and that they are enjoying school so far. My oldest son Nico graduated four years ago from MCHVF and my youngest Alex is in Kindergarten and so happy to be back at school.
It goes without saying that this is no ordinary year. The challenges this global pandemic have presented to our school and to schools and communities everywhere are beyond what we could have ever imagined. We are incredibly grateful for the support of our families during this trying time. The grace you have extended us is deeply appreciated. We have always prided ourselves on our strong MCHVF community, and we sincerely hope that by working together and supporting each other, we will emerge stronger in the end.
I’d like to extend a big thank you to our Head of School Jess DiMartini for leading the school and being so supportive of our teachers and parents during this time. We are also extremely grateful to the teachers who work tirelessly to provide our children an incredible educational experience. Our teachers and staff have shown incredible resilience, positivity and creativity as we have navigated the uncertainty of these past several months. They have a lot on their shoulders this year, and we are grateful for everything they are doing to continue educating our children while also keeping them safe.
As you may have noticed, classes are much smaller this year, which is a blessing from a safety and distancing perspective. While we are thankfully able to keep our doors open, we do appreciate any support you may feel is appropriate at this time. As a small, non-profit school, we depend on fundraising efforts to keep the school running smoothly and to provide special projects to our students that tuition doesn’t cover. As you can imagine, these efforts will be especially important this year. Your continued support and generosity is deeply appreciated.
Lastly, I want to extend a big thank you to the MCHVF Board of Directors – Stephanie McAleer, Anne Lenehan-Woodcock, Martin Highley, Andrew Owen, Patrick Conlin, Nemo Perera, Greg Grimm, Kathy Justi and Jackie Leck. Your support and guidance throughout these past several months have been invaluable, so thank you!
Here’s to a healthy and safe year!
President, MCHVF Board of Directors
